What: The first annual WOR Winter Karting Challenge
When: Sunday, January 27th
Where:
Competition Racing in Lawrenceburg, Indiana (Suburb of Cincy)
http://www.competitionracing.net
891 Rudolph Way
Lawrenceburg, IN 47025

Teams/Entries:
- Teams will consist of 3 people. There is a max of 8 teams for a total of 24 people. You will pick your own team but there is one catch. Each team will be required to have at least one member over 200lbs (if you do not have a 200+ pounder, the average weight of your team can be no less than 185lbs). I will post teams here as they develope. Please let me know via email or post on here if you are sending payment and who your team will be.

Format:
- We will have exclusive use of the facility for 90 minutes.
- Each team will have an open 20 minute practice/qualifying session. Each team's best individual lap from that session will set the race grid. A lap takes about 25 seconds, so 20 minutes is approximately 45ish laps. This time should also be used to practice driver changes.
- The race will be 1 hour. Team strategy in terms of stints or stops is up to the teams. Refueling is not an issue.
- Each team member is required to take at least one 10 minute driving stint during the race (no putting a fat guy on the team and then not actually putting him in the kart).
- Standing start
- The team that crosses the line first (with the most laps completed) after 1 hour is the WINNER!!!

Schedule:
1:00pm - Teams arrive.
1:30pm - Competition Karting Meeting. Discussion on safety, rules, driver changes and pit procedures VERY MANDATORY!!! If you miss this meeting, you don't race. No arguments, no discussions, no refunds.
2:00pm - 20 minute practice/qualifying session. This is an open session during which you can do whatever you want. Your team's fastest single lap from this session will be used to set the starting grid.
2:30pm - GREEN FLAG!!! Race will be one hour as determined by the Comp Racing staff. First team to see the checkered WINS!!!
3:30pm - Victory Lap and photos.
3:45pm - Hoffbrau House in Newport?!?!?!!?

Safety Requirements:
- Helmet (you can bring your own but it has to be shielded or you must wear safety glasses/goggles)
- Closed toed shoes
- Long Pants
- Gloves are recommended.
- Helmets are available on site.

Cost:
Teams will consist of 3 people. The cost for a team to enter is $150, or $50 per person. Payment is to be sent to me by the 31st if at all possible. The team captain can front the money or whatever you see fit.

EDIT
People on the list currently have until the 31st to send payment. After that, the backup list will be contacted.

"- The team that crosses the line first after 1 hour is the WINNER!!!"

So if one team does 90 laps in one hour but cross the line first they beat a team that does 120 laps in the same amount of time?

Would there be a slight waiver to the 200 lb rule if a team had one 193 lb driver and two (much, much lighter) female drivers? They're rookies and I'm out of practice, so could we come and play?

Anyone need a 3rd member? I'm (well) under 200 lbs, so I can't fulfill that rule.

Chrisitan,

It looks like we're not going to be able to come out and play. This sounds like a really neat event and I'm sorry we'll miss it.

I bolded the "big boys" that I know of. Should I bring a scale to the track?
