Good luck on getting them out for an event. About a year ago I was involved in putting on a special SCCA event for the UCF car club on the UCF campus in one of their parking lots. The UCF student that worked with us to organize it was over an hour late getting there to get it set up too. In the end I think only 2 of them even showed up to participate. So, it was attended by 2 UCF car club members and about 18 SCCA workers.

Maybe they are more motivated a year later, maybe not. My personal opinion is that the majority of them are more interested in show than go. I'm just letting you know what my experience was with them.

Minimum of 10 to get a group deal. Embry Riddle always brings a big group to Gainesville for our Mini Prix's and that's what we do for them. I'm not sure what the specifics are. That's the Treasurer's deal. thumbsup.gif

i'm not a member, but here's my .02 - give 'em a brake at 15 people and they all have to register and pay in advance

FYI - We are having a Rotary only Autocross event on Saturday the 12th a lot of us are staying over to attend the Martin event on Sunday. You should have a good crowd there. Some of the cars are from other states too.

Yeah I know, but they were much less organized back then. That was like the first semester the club was around. It wasn't lack of interest but lack of organization. an example was, I knew of the club, hung out with them a few times, and I didn't even know about it and I would jump all over an autocross on campus smile.gif Not to gurantee stuff, but I we all know college students can be flakey, and broke.

We are up to weekly meets of at least 15-20 cars usually up to 30+ at times. Lots of spec Vs, Accords, last meet we had an '05 Stang, S2k, usual f-bodies, and mustangs...

Also I have seen the embry riddle people run in their own class. I believe its something if you have 5 or more people you run in your own class. Is this game?

Currently we are getting together at UC7 plaza across the street from UCF, wed. ~8pm, we are changing though because thats just a huge hangout of cars that meet up everyweek and its kind of lame, lots of ricers, people doing burnouts, driving in circles with neon lights blaring systems. So keep updated for a new place and time for next week.

We are planning on meeting up at sonics, next week then some people may go over to the bigger meet.
