New AZENIS RT-615

http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_rt615_t.htm

I've read that Tire Rack tested these and they blew away every tire tested. The price has jumped, but the wet performance has increased as well. It's nice to have a greater solection of sizes to choose from as well. thumbsup.gif

Is this tire solely an auto-x tire or will it be performing daily driven duties too?

I don't know why not. I ran the old Azenis sports as a daily driver during the summer and fall. Of course tire wear is effected.

Supposedly the RT-615 is less prone to the hydroplaning that came with Azenis Sports at speeds above 60-65 mph. A wear rating of 200 isn't meant to last very long in a daily driving situation, but it certainly can live on the streets.

I voted for the PS2s. I'd only get the Azenis on a dedicated set of rims.

Lol, the price on the 225/50/15 Azenis is listed as $0 at Vulcan. That's perfect! Of course when they are released I imagine they will cost more smile.gif

My old Azenis from last season will have to do on the Integra until they are corded. After that, the RT-615 or the Kumho MX, unless I find a tire in a 225/45 (non R compound) that can compare.

I'm hoping to use the new ST-615, if they make them in my size by the time I need them. I'm getting an e90 330i via European Delivery in late May, re-delivery to the US in early July. Until that time, I'll be using my e46 330i, bone stock.

The e90's come with run-flats that I will need to replace, if I want to be fairly competitive. I may change the stock tire size (225/40/18f and 255/35/18r), but I'm not sure which 17" wheels will fit it over the larger brakes. I may choose to get Kosei's (if they fit) w/Azenis, in 235/40/17 or 255/40/17 (if they fit) all around.

I am planning to get the new Azenis in the next few weeks. I did not have Azenis last season and I dearly regretted it after driving a few cars that had them. I am hoping the new ones are as good, if not better, as the old ones thumbsup.gif

I would be running the new azenis--if they made it in more 16" sizes (225/50 and 245-45 to be specific).

but since falken continues to ignore S2000 drivers, I'm hoping either hankook's new tire or the Toyo T1-R come out in time. Or maybe I'll suck it up and finally get R rubber.

I will be trying out the Khumo MX's this year.
last year was Bridgestone RE070's off an STI, they were KILLER
Year before, Azenis RS, also killer

auto.gif The Azenas from last year tended to get greasy very quickly, especially in the summer, 2 driver cars, long courses, or re-runs. Maybe the new ones are better. The Kumho MX's, especially if you start them out shaved to 6/32, stick very well, are very predictable and forgiving, allow you to really throw the car around on a precise line, and get better and better the warmer they get. I run mine as street tires, AX tires, and only take them off for DE tires or ice racing tires. driving.gif

When not on the Hoosiers I'm running the Goodyear F1 Eagle GS D3s. FWIW.

Maybe the question should have been "Which tires would you like to run this year?" The new Azenis will probably be the best "street" autoX tire but I had to go with tires sold by the Tirerack because of One Lap requirements... Although I think the PS2s will be pretty close in performance and much better in ride and comfort if you are planning on driving with them on the street too...
