I've been keeping dib's on the Challenger project.. All par has been pretty good on what D.C. has been building for the last few years. They say its com'in, if so it could be in my garage in 2008!

Too bad GM is so stupid....they should take a page from Dodge and Ford for reviving or redesigning a model line worthy of the name.

GTO is forever tainted.....oops, we were talking about Mopar....Go Dodge!!! mullet.gif

It looks good, but at 4100lbs it redefines the term "pig" IMO.
jhue75
Maybe hes just big boned..... are you saying the CHallenger needs "Husky Pants"?
PAW 47
I think they may be using the base weight from the Charger R/T which does come in at 4100lbs.

Now that's a retro with a modern twist done the proper way. Looks good.

Once again today, i second Matt's opinion...Im starting to sense a trend...great minds think alike

The new Mustang interior? I'd give you that on the older ones like mine...but the new one is pretty good...in both materials and fit-and-finish. I think it is more than comparable to anything at it's price point...

Back on topic, I hope this Challenger does go into production (and the Camaro)...we need competition to drive innovation and price competition.

Keep in mind I'm arguing over quality of plastic here, but humor me, go to this link and zoom in on the picture and look at all the different plastics Ford is using now...good stuff. This is a picture of the concept car too, I'm sure the production one will look more polished (look at that nasty looking steering wheel center...yuck!)

Are we talking about the same car? blink.gif

I never cared for the Mustang interior regardless of the year. The 05+ are certainly an improvement in fit and finish but I can't stand the "retro" design.

The materials are also still questionable IMO. The picture you linked to was of the Shelby GT500 show car shot under ideal lighting which is not representative of a typical Mustang. For instance, I don't think regular Mustang GT's will getting a leather wrapped dashboard anytime soon smile.gif To me the whole lower dash & console area just screams "cheap American plastic".

More 2005 Mustang interior pictures

Looks like the nasty steering wheel center made it to production oops.gif

Yes, I'm being nit picky but I'm tired of GM/Ford building interiors out of cheap crap year after year. I mean is it really that hard to make your parts out of the same stuff as the Japanese/Germans?

Well yeah, that one looks a bit better. But the Base/GT do not have the leather like Jason says.

I had a rental 05 Mustang this was a mid-level model, I have to say fit & finish a Chevy Caviler has a better interior! It was crap, the car had 2000 miles on it! It rattled as bad as my 94 Miata with 152K on it. And when will Ford build a car with better controls then the 90 style radio and a/c nobs.

That is my only bashing of the car, if I could get past the inferior interior I'd have one. Hell I like the Fox body interiors much better then then this car. Sorry..

Didn't Chevy use the same stereo for the C5 Vette as they did on the Suburban and the work class pickups. Adam's '04 Z06 and '98 'burb are basically identical.

The stereo in my 02 Mustang GT looks nothing like the one in my friends 95 Cobra so I'm not sure what you are talking about.

BACK ON TOPIC - I LOVE the new Challenger. It is what Dodge should have made to begin with. I like the Charger, but come on, the Charger is supposed to be a Coupe not a sedan!!!!!

Todd, maybe your friend with the 95 Cobra has an 80s-era style radio and a/c knobs biggrin.gif.

On the other hand, the GTO has a sweet interior.

I'm not too big on retro styling, but the challenger does look pretty good for what it is. 4100lbs is awfully heavy.

With that said, if I was in the market for a "muscle car", I'd rather have a GTO over the Mustang or the Challenger.

In like 14 days or so we'll be seeing a new GM RWD 2dr. Concept hopefully badged "CAMARO" THe Challenger looks great, but I ain't for MOPAR....

After the Mustang and the Challenger, the Cowmaro better look AWESOME!! Can't wait for the unveiling.
