Jesse sent me this a couple years ago. Finally found it on Google Video.
Oh and this supra dyno'd in the mid 400'shp at the ground. The 911 was apparently kicking him so badly it wasn't even funny.

Lake City To gainesville 48miles = 20mins.

Click to watch!

Some of you might recognize the guy in the back seat from running in our mini prix a couple years back.

WOuld have liked to seen the Cobra go against the Porsche. Supras are so cool 1000hp gets you into the 11s! Roll racing is their only friend lol.
vbreakey
best quote from the video "we should just let him go before we die"

I've seen some 800hp ones with full interior and A/c run high 9's. But it's rare.

Very haha, I've seen some pull it off too, must have had a lot of suspension work in the rear to get that tho! I also think a lot of these kids/adults driving the high HP Supras aren't that great of drivers either, they just have big $ or mom and dad's money rolleyes.gif I'd like to see that whole film of the Supra meets here in Orlando. Not really into the street racing scene, well because 1) I have a bad enough driving record as is 2) I don't have the money to get a high HP car to run these fools and 3) I ain't gonna risk my career or life over a street race, but it would be interesting to see if I know anyone and where they get away with all the racing here in O-Town. I once was crazy enough to top my car out at 160 on the 415 going to New Symrna eek.gif talk about nucking futs, I couldn't imagine chasing after someone that fast in the middle of the f'ing day especially inbetween Gainesville and Lk. City where there is never a shortage of FHP or Local Smokeys.

People like that scare me.

Notice how safe it looks on video.... good argument for removing the speed limit.

Um, no.

On one hand those are some impressive cars and driving fast is fun...but not on congested public roads. I'm sure there were many families driving to Disney World they were passing at 160-180mph...weaving in and out of traffic.

I've been there and done that on the same road back in my high school days. I could bury the 140 mph speedo in my GTO no problem and didn't think about the consequences until the tread seperated on my right front tire at around 125 mph. eek.gif Lucky I didn't kill myself or someone else.

I know someone who drove from Daytona to the Longwood exit in 17 minutes in a stock '95 F-body at 2am in the morning on a clear night. They don't do that any more crazy.gif

One of the guys I work with Claimed he could do Downtown orlando to Daytona BEACH in under 30mins on his R1. Thats including the trip down Speedway blvd to the beach.

BTW, anyone notice the guy in the back seat didn't even have a seat belt on?
PseudoRealityX
Yeah....the sad part is that the guy in the back seat is actually one hellava driver, but he just doesn't like organized racing.

Since that video, those guys have been all over the country doing various films about silliness in cars/bikes/SUVs/etc. Also went to Europe and did the Gumball the next year.

I wonder who that could be Jim. nana.gif

We would skip school every now and then and head to New Smyrna for the day. One morning in the Edgewater High School parking lot we decided to cut school and make it a race to New Smyrna. This was before the GTO when I was driving a 1970 Cutlass Supreme so I was at a disadvantage to my buddies Mach 1. I managed to keep up with him until we got on 415 and then he just walked away. They made it on the beach from the Edgewater High School parking lot in 28 minutes. This was in 1979 so traffic was non existant back then.

In the case of the gumball, their mantra is "It is not a race, it is a rally"If you repeat any lie enough times, most people will believe it. That includes many busted_cop.gif .

Money buys the ability to ignore little laws. They won't haul your butt back from italy for a speeding ticket or 10. So these guys get the tickets, don't give a rats behind and leave the country.
God wouldn't that be nice!
