Hello, my name is Kyle and I am interested in starting to autocross with you guys. Just a little hesitant on classing and such.

I drive a 2007 Toyota Yaris Hatchback (Yes I understand its an economy car)
Currently modded with the following:
AEM cold air intake
Megan Racing catback exhaust
Megan Racing 4-1 Header
Tein Basic Damper Coilovers
Tanabe Front Strut Brace
Corbeau CR1 Seats (Driv and Pass) with Harnesses
16x7 Rim, 205/50/16 Tires

Was also wonder if you guys have any other eco-cars out there running around? I know that in some areas its becoming more and more popular to mod these little cars up.

Welcome to the fun and addiction Sabretooth.

It looks like you Yaris will be classed in ST since none of what you have done will be legal in the stock classes. If you decide to add R - Compund tires then you will go to one of the SP classes, though I'm not sure which one.

As for racing an economy car, the Honda Civic has been one of the most popular cars at autocross event around the country for many years. You don't see many (any?) Smarts, few diesels, no hybrids (they aren't even classed by the SCCA) running. Your car will be classed with Honda Civics, BMW 325i, etc. Most 4 seat, small displacement cars with basic exhaust and suspension mods and running street tires will be classed in ST.

I have to ask though, given the mods you have made, is it still an economy car?? smile.gif

Well even with what mods are done, I still manage 28-32 mpg city, 35+ highway.
