My car sits just about 3/4" lower on the right from from the left (measured at K-Member and frame rails). It has ever since... well it has for quite some time. Let's just leave it at that.
I'd like to even it out and was considering coilovers. I have replaced the entire front suspension, A-arms, spindle, K-member, etc... with stock components.
Everything but the springs. But if you have ever experienced the spring replacement on a F-body you'll understand why I don't want to do it twice. Plus it hasn't changed any further over the past few years so I don't think it's a spring losing its bounce.
Will putting coilovers on the front of my Camaro punt me out of ESP?
If so would it be possible to apply for a variance somehow if I only do one side or if I do both sides with the same ride height and spring rate as I have now?
I'm not trying to upgrade just trying to level things out.

Coilovers are completely legal in *SP... no variances needed

And don't be shy about it, do it for performance... may as well while you're there, eh?

I already feel bad that the other guys in the class are so underprepared for the class. Plus I'm already SOOO in love with the way the car handles whether on the street or at an event, that I don't want to change too much.
Maybe just a little won't hurt.....

Yep, totally legal like John said. To elaborate you're free to change the springs, shocks, and swaybars to whatever you want in _SP as long as you don't change where the mounting points where the suspension attaches to the car.

The springs also have to be of the same type, right? i.e. a MchPherson strut with the coil spring over the damper is viewed as having the same type of spring as a "coilover"....

Yes.... if it is say, like most straight axle rearends for instance, the springs are on a seperate perch from the shock.... then whatever you do aftermarket has to be that same way.. separate spring from shock, and must use the stock mounting points.
Can't convert a vette rear leaf spring to a coil spring, etc...
Sorry, forgot about all that hoopla... lol!

Thanks guys! I've got a set of Global West coilovers with 550# springs on the way.
