DAYTONA BEACH -- Bike Week is far from over and so is the work of task force members looking for stolen bikes.
Task force members are made up of different law enforcement agencies around the state. They travel to several bike events looking for stolen bikes.
Task force members arrested David Nudelman, 31, and David Hershkowitz, 35, Monday night. Both are registered chiropractors in Georgia.
Task force members walked right past the two chiropractors. Members said the two avoided eye contact and seemed nervous, which sent up a red flag.
Task force members checked vehicle identification numbers on the bikes and discovered they'd been altered and stolen.
Task force members said the bikes were stolen from one of the pair's roommates, possibly as part of a broader insurance scam.
Nudleman and Hershkowitz denied knowing the bikes were stolen.
However, both were charged with grand theft auto.
Task force members said they recovered close to 30 stolen bikes in 2009.
As Bike Week continue, they said they may recover just as many stolen bikes this year even if they’re stolen by unassuming thieves.
